You are a slugcat. The world around you is full of danger, and you must face it – alone. Separated from your family in a devastating flood, you will need to find food and shelter between terrifying torrential downpours which threaten to drown all life. Climb through the ruins of an ancient civilization, evade the jaws of vicious predators, and discover new lands teeming with strange creatures and buried mysteries. Find your family before something makes a meal of you!
Rain World: Downpour is a DLC expansion of Rain World. Take control of five new characters with new abilities in this vast, redefined world. Slugcats have adapted to the harsh conditions alongside evolved predators! Survive new environmental conditions, dangers and explore uncharted territory.
Rain World: The Watcher is a DLC expansion of Rain World. Journey beyond to something, somewhere only ever glimpsed. When the world beneath your feet cracks and crumbles, will you hold on to all you once knew? Or dive into the unknown?

One of the most beautiful games I've ever played. The world is rich with detail and places to explore. I highly recommend going into this game blind. Even the slightest bit of info beyond what region you need to get to next can take the joy from this game. You're highly encouraged to experiment and explore, mapping out the world and interacting with the wildlife. Staying alive for repeated cycles only really matters when you're trying to progress the story or move to a different region. As for the bad: the game does not hold you hand. Once the basic tutorial is complete, you get very little help on what to do next beyond what region you should go to in order to progress. Main story can leave you a little lost at times, as the creature that guides you in the first half of the game isn't as useful in the latter half, which can get frustrating. The game forces you to experiment and explore, so follow its instructions! (or lack thereof) I think it's best to treat this game as a survival sandbox in your first playthrough: experiment as much as you can, try to figure out how things work in the world, and once you have a good grasp on which animals do what and the layout of several different regions, you can continue following the storyline of your slugcat.

The enemies you encounter in the world a challenging, and often times too strong to kill easily. Thanks to their great AI, all encounters are organic and unpredictable. Rain World is a challenging game, and if any of this sounds interesting to you, I recommend it. Game runs well and looks (and sounds) as good as it does in the trailer!
