This feels less like a game and more like a seafishing training simulator. In story mode, you start in a little brown boat that is slower than a snail.. which on its own would be fine but it takes like 5m real time just to leave the harbour another 15m to get to a fishing spot, which gradually depletes and changes as the seasons change. Thankfully theres fast travel but only to areas you have already been... however the area of that map that gets revealed is tiny. so if you want to explore anywhere it would take you an age. I am sure as you progress to larger boats thats less of an issue but overalll it makes for a rathere painful start.. The controls could of used a kick in the pants to, you end up using half the keyboard for something that should of been much less. As a learning experience its quite enjoyable and I did learn a few things I never knew about deep sea fishing, and crab potting work but it feels more like work than a game. Overall though the game is about as true of a fishing simulator as you could get but its almost to true an experience to enjoy, and a few quality of life fixes would go along way to making this less of a chore and more of a game.
