Great game, from the reviews this was one of the higher rated assassin creed games so I thought I'd give it a try. The character movement is smooth and the ship battles are a lot of fun due to the maneuverability they have making it more dynamic than just sit and shoot. In terms of let downs the combat whilst simple doesn't add much difficulty or variety in terms of moves or skills, the strategy is just slashing sword and one key for countering attacks and one for breaking guard no complexity with combos or the sort. This does allow for clearing large amounts of enemies with little to no effort just countering when needed and constantly swinging with the only difficulty being shooters. My favorite part about this game is all the extras you can gather and the side activities you can do which makes you want to go for 100% completion, they're simple and straightforward enough that you aren't left frustrated or constantly looking for a guide which is great for someone looking to do a 100% completion on it without it requiring tons of research but that could be a negative if you like more of a challenge on 100% completions. The main story is simple and has some nice progression but nothing crazy in terms of story telling, nice to complete but nothing too memorable as a story arc for me personally. Weapon progression felt lacking on this game, within the first few hours I already gathered enough gold for the best sword at the first city. I assumed this was the best for this city but turns out it was the best sword for the whole game which is pretty underwhelming considering all the other progression stuff within this game and the potential to add in super end game weapons that have a significant boost over buyable ones but there isn't
